Announcing a Double EP: Live by the Song, Die by the Song πŸŽΆπŸ“»πŸŽΆ

It's been quite a while since I released a studio album of my own songs, but the wait is finally over. I am beyond excited to announce my latest musical endeavor, a heartfelt and stripped-down acoustic double EP titled Live by the Song, Die by the Song. This collection of songs is a testament to the carefree summer days, where love bloomed and memories were etched by the shimmering Shenandoah River.

Mark your calendars because the first single, "My Mourning Dove," is set to hit all streaming platforms on July 26, 2023. The complete album will be available digitally, as well as pressed onto CD and vinyl, by December 31, 2023, courtesy of Red-Winged Blackbird Records.

Live by the Song, Die by the Song features an incredible lineup of musicians, including my former bandmate from Dead Horse Revival, Chance Hurley. Not only that, but we also have special appearances by Scott Matlock (Dead Horse Revival) and Colin Shultzaberger (The Unconditional Lovers.) The EP was recorded by the talented Kenny Eaton at Mystery Ton Studios, ensuring a truly captivating listening experience.

Now, let's dive into the concept of a "Double EP." You might be wondering why I didn't just call it an LP. Well, Live by the Song, Die by the Song is a special release that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of an EP or an LP. Originally conceived as a 5-song EP, I realized that if you're investing in physical media, I wanted to offer you as much music as possible. So, instead of sticking to the original plan, I decided to include 10 total tracks on the album.

The record will be divided into two parts: Side A, titled "Live by the Song, Die by the Song," and Side B, which comprises 5 bonus tracks recorded live at Mystery Ton Studios. These sessions were an integral part of the same chapter in my life, with the same talented collaborators. While the decision to merge these projects might not be immediately apparent, there is an underlying thread of continuity that ties them together. Thus, the term "double EP" perfectly captures the essence of these two separate but connected expressions.

For all you audiophiles out there, having these live tracks in physical form provides an unparalleled listening experience. It allows you to savor the nuances and intimacy that only physical media can deliver. Moreover, the live recordings from the "Live at Mystery Ton Studios" sessions offer a stripped-down and looser alternative to the official releases of these songs, catering to those who prefer acoustic melodies and a bluegrass vibe.

With 10 songs, Live by the Song, Die by the Song will take you on a journey with me. I am truly thrilled to share these musical chapters of my life with you.

So mark your calendars for July 26th for the release of My Mourning Dove!
